WORK UNITS

FONAFIFO is constituted by an Executive Director and the following areas

ESPP
 

The area of Environmental Services, in coordination with FONAFIFO’s Regional Offices, is responsible for coordinating the activities related to the Environmental Services Payment Program, as well as for providing the guidelines, decrees, and procedure manuals. Likewise, it is responsible for the processing of payments to beneficiaries, evaluation, monitoring, statistics and results from the Program.

Forest credit
 

The Forest Credit Department is responsible for managing the FONAFIFO’s Credit Program; for this, it coordinates the corresponding actions together with the Banco Nacional de Costa Rica’s Trust Division, which acts as the Trust Agent for the Trust.

The most important actions thereof are the promotion, evaluation and follow up of the projects. Also, it is very important to coordinate them with the productive forestry sectors

Resource Management
 

The Resource Management Department is responsible for seeking and raising the financial resources besides those allocated by the prevailing legislation, pursuant to FONAFIFO’s objectives, on behalf of small and medium forestry producers.

The Information Systems (IS) Unit is a strategic independent unit under the direct authority of the Executive Division. The main purpose of this strategic unit is to assist and support, with Information Technology, each area, either central or regional, in the core and operating process involved in the accomplishment of FONAFIFO’s goals.
