The Living Forest is another innovative initiative the Costa Rican government offers you to help recover and protect the country's forests and all the wealth they hold, through the Payment for Environmental Services (PES) .
Costa Rica is one of the few countries in the world which has been able to slow down the deforestation rate and recover its forest cover. Help us to continue this enormous effort through the Living Forest initiative.

The Ministry of Atmosphere and Energía (MINAE) by means of the Program of Payment of Environmental Services that develops the National Bottom of Financiamiento Forestal (FONAFIFO) gives faith that the resources contributed by this means will be invested according to the interest of the donor.

The mechanism is voluntary and simple; through “ Living Forest ”, those people or companies interested in helping recover the forest, protect biodiversity, water and the ecosystems, can do so. All they have to do is purchase Certificates for Environmental Services (CES) for a specific amount or make a voluntary donation for the amount they choose .

Any person, company or national and international group or organization can purchase the Certificates for Environmental Services (CES) under the Living Forest category; among them:

Companies in the tourism sector

Pharmaceutical and scientific research companies

Industries, businesses and companies for the services sector

Agencies, NGOs and international organizations

Conservation groups and foundations

Other people, companies and organizations interested in protecting the forests, water and biodiversity

Transparency

Innovation

Public in general

money raised will be invested in projects that protect watersheds and surrounding forests, paying the forest owners for the environmental services they lend by heir The ESC are issues by FONAFIFO, an autonomous state organization authorized by the law to execute Costa Rica's Payment for Environmental Services Program (PES), assigned to the Ministry of the Environment and Energy (MINAE).
